This shoot was the first with my step-mother. She encouraged me, then, to start exploring what I could do. The date was October 17th, 2017.
A nice rainy day didn’t stop a few friends from visiting.
These are among my first attempts of astronomical photography.
There are some problems. I could not see well enough to focus. I finally figured out how to get into a position to where I could focus and then set my sites on address other issues like composition and exposure.
These are photographs of my sanctuary around my home.
I hope you enjoy the beauty as I do.
This gallery will grow through the rest of the year. I have more photos to post and I’m taking more very often.
On this Veteran’s Day, I have a simple request: Make it Real.
Talk is cheap. Doing is more complicated.
Instead of just thanking a vet for his/her service, honor them. It could be as simple as purchasing them a cup of coffee. Take them to lunch. Spend 30 minutes listening to them. Make your words mean something more than a hollow good will gesture.
If you are religious, talk to them about hell. Many of us have seen it. Some, still live in it.
If you like weapons, well, chuckle, I don’t know a prior service member that can’t talk about that subject.
If you are ticked about the NFL or any of the other million issues affecting vets, there are your talking points. Sit, talk and spend time.
So, on this Veteran’s Day, which falls on a weekend, make it real. Follow your words up with action. Truly honor those that have dedicated their lives and blood to freedom and making this country the great country it is.
It truly was an honor to serve.
